You must build a vibrant metropolis, meeting the needs of its inhabitants and efficiently processing acquired resources to expand your economy and military.
Create a Self Sustaining Economy
You will start by constructing simple residences and warehouses, but will soon go on to create complex production systems, involving growing plants, breeding animals, supplying energy to your buildings, maintaining your army and trading with the gods.
Keep an eye on the mystical calendar which reveals upcoming events!
The gods are whimsical. Sometimes, they will send plagues, earthquakes or other disasters to ravage your city. You will have to prepare accordingly. But, other times, they will make your crops grow faster or invigorate your citizens to work harder. Plan ahead to reap the greatest benefits from these boons!
Escape or prevent the impending volcanic eruption!
The time until the destruction of your fledgling civilization will eventually run out. Satisfy the whims of the gods to buy more time to push back the coming cataclysm, or try to outsmart them. Will you be able to avoid the disastrous future?
Take part in a cooperative game with another player. Join forces to create a thriving metropolis!
The Whims of the Gods features a cooperation system between two players. There is too much for one player to do alone, so grab a friend and split the load. Coming to an understanding as to who is responsible for what is as much a part of the challenge of the game as is creating production cycles and escaping the volcano.
